TREK AMAZONIE 9th RELEASE
A TRUE TRAIL of scrapper in DEEP EQUATORIAL FOREST.
Competitors were offered to run saint Laurent on the ancient line of road link / Apatou via the camp of the inn Voltaire. This plan of road which is left today, is still used by informed and experienced hikers.Three different ways were proposed :
25KM, The howling monkeys : departure of Apatou, then walking in the track of crossing of the equatorial forest to attain the cove Sparouine; repatriation by pirogue to saint Laurent
69 KM, Tavel Amazonia: Stage of 25KM + lane ( roofless in the past) linking up the cove Sparouine with the camp of the inn Voltaire; the forest having taken back its rights, the progress in this scoop was very difficult; From the inn Voltaire, it was necessary be another 25 KM on the lane of Paul Isnard to join the Maïpouri camp, today disused.
123 KM, the hellish lane: Stage 69KM + the end of the lane Paul Isnard up to the rum distillery Saint Maurice where arrival was adjudged .

Let us note the participation of two SAINT LAURENTAIS CYRILL VAUTRIN and HUBERT MICHON which closed the 123 NO-STOP KM in biathlon for a final time of 16 h 45 of which:
More than 45 KM of forest in walking between Apatou and the Inn of Falls Voltaires in 9 h 18;
Then the Paul Isnard track (75 KM ) in VTT till the rum distillery of Saint-Maurice.For obvious reasons of security, all competitors had to cross the forest by forming the single column, up to the camp of the voltaire inn. This sports walking on tracks in forest was in a unanimous manner appreciated by all in spite of difficulties: topography, Chablis, carnivorous plants, humidity, etc.
On the track of Paul Isnard,all competitors could evolve each in their rhythm. A rest was offered au Maïpouri camp get forces and leave again full of energy.Only the most strong and the most inuring could succeeded in 123 KM no-stop. Guyanais broadly dominated debates with DANIELLE DONNIO who won running in 16 h 45. Next were at more than 1 h 10, a magical trio composed with Stephane PIQUEMAL, NICOLAS MARGAROT and CHRISTOPHE LESAUX.

Let us note that CHRISTOPHE LESAUX, one of the best specialists of the running of endurance in Guyana, made a big fault in his provisions of the 69 KM and that thanks to encouragement of his companions, without them he could leave again.
More than physical performance, we keep the mind of solidarity and courage which all competitors shown.
Lets join us for the 10th edition of GUYANA TREK AMAZON which will take place in march, 2009.
